Adult & All-Ages Events
Exploring the Art of Mark Rothko. Mark Rothko was born in Portland, OR where he started his artistic journey. Mark Rothko produces panels of color that, at first, are hard to understand as being art. We will follow the development of this art form in an attempt to understand his final achievement - the Rothko Chapel. Tuesday, October 4th at 6pm. Downtown Library
Author Talk: Julie Morrison. Arizona author & rancher  will discuss her locally- published memoir, Barbed, available at the library & for purchase at the event. Wednesday, October 5th at 6pm at the downtown library.
Science Cafe. 2nd Saturday discussions with local science leaders. Saturday, October 8th at 10am at East Flagstaff Community Library. Discover and discuss the latest images from the James Webb Telescope with Lowell Observatory.
Caregiver information session re: Let's Talk about Sex.  Are you a caregiver to a teen ages 12-18? Want them to be educated about sex & sexuality so they stay safe, happy, & healthy, but not sure how to talk to them about it? Join us for an info session to learn about the Let's Talk About Sex sessions for teens on Friday Oct 21 and 28. Bring your teen or come solo! Tuesday October 11th at 5:30pm, East Flagstaff Community Library.
Nuestra Cultura: Hora de Misterio! Ven a conversar sobre la cultura hispana y latinoamericana, el segundo miércoles del mes en la sala comunitaria de la biblioteca del centro. Tendremos cafecito y té disponible. El 12 de Octubre a las 5:30pm.
Computer Basics: Learn how to navigate a computer with Windows 10, create, manage, and delete files, and more. All technology is provided, just bring yourself! Seats are limited and registration is required. Thursday, October 13th at 11am at the Downtown Library.
Book Clubs
LGBT Virtual Book Club: The Fever King by Victoria Lee. October 10th at 6:30pm. Recommended for ages 15 and up.
Horror Story Club. October 11th and 25th at 5:30 pm. Downtown Library. October 11th: The Yellow Wallpaper, Berenice, and Number 13. October 25th: The One Who Waits and the Rats in the Walls. Note: some stories contain dated and offensive language.
Thursday Night Book Club: The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. October 13th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
Youth Climate Book Club: Meet on the second Friday each month to build community and have a deeper dialogue about climate with other youth while discussing sections from All We Can Save. Pick up a copy at the Downtown or East Flagstaff library. Friday, October 14th at 4:30pm. At the East Flagstaff Community Room or on Zoom.
Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. October 17th at 1pm. 3rd Monday of every other month. This month is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Southwest Reads Book Club: Lazy B. 4th Monday of every other month at 5:30pm at the Downtown Library. November 28th.
Youth Events
Lego Club at the Downtown Library. We bring the bricks, you bring the imagination! Mondays September 19th and 26th, October 3rd, 17th, and 31st, and November 7th. 3:45pm. Ages 5 to 11.
Lego Club at the East Flagstaff Library: Thursdays September 22nd, October 6th and 20th, and November 3rd. 2:30 to 3:45pm.
Anime Tales and Play: Every other Monday, September 19th to October 31st. 3:15 to 4:30pm at the East Flagstaff Library. Watch Anime, Play Games, Get Crafty, Discuss anime & manga, and Check-out the latest manga & anime DVDs! Food Provided!
Game Time Hang Time: Come chill with Switch & PS4 games and free snacks! Ages 8-18. 3:45-4:45pm. Fridays  September 16TH and 30TH, October 7TH and 21ST, November 4TH & 18TH. Downtown Community Room.
Game Day: Fridays September 16th and 30th, October 14th and 28th, 2:30 to 4pm. Swing by the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library to play video games and table top games! Ages 8 to 17.
Bardes and Nobles: Dungeons and Dragons for teens.  Ages 12 to 17. 3rd Thursdays of the month, September through November. 5 to 7:30pm. Downtown Library.
Downtown Library Storytimes. Baby Laptime: Tuesdays, September 13th to November 15th, 9:15 am. Toddler Tales: September 13th to November 17th, Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 9:15 am. Preschool Express: September 14th to November 17th, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 am. Outside, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be in the Community Room.
Crafty Corner. Express your creativity at the East Flagstaff Community Library! Tuesdays, September 13th to November 1st. 3:30 to 4:30pm. Ages 3 and up.
Family Storytime. Wednesdays, September 14th to November 2nd from 10:30am to 11:15am. In the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library
Creation Station stories and crafts: Wednesdays Sept. 14 & 28  Oct. 12 & 26 and Nov. 9 at 3:45pm in the Downtown Community Room. Ages 3 and up.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
