Flagstaff Police Department Citizens Liaison Committee to present Drug Awareness event on May 15

FLAGSTAFF — The Flagstaff Police Department Citizens Liaison Committee will present a Drug Awareness event at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 at Mt. Elden Middle School, Music Room, 3223 N. Fourth St., Flagstaff.

The event will include information on what to look for, how illegal drugs are used. This is the first of a two-part series with a follow-up on drug intervention, community resource options.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to sit down and speak with members of the committee about public safety and other issues affecting the community.

About the Flagstaff Police Department Citizens Liaison Committee: The volunteer community group was formed following discussions with the community in early 2014 and is supported by a grant from the Arizona Community Foundation, the Flagstaff Community Foundation and the Forest Highlands Foundation. Members work to improve the communications process between the department and the community, encourage community members to submit complaints without fear of retribution and provide a proactive informational forum to address community concerns when incidents and issues arise. Members represent a cross-section of the community and include Roxana Cardiel, Scott Deasy, Jessie Dominguez, Deborah Harris, Frank X. Moraga, Dan Musselman, Marianne Sullivan, Rose Toehe, Kevin Treadway, Walt Miller and Lina H. Wallen.
