May 18 — City of Flagstaff hosts drop-in event for residents to learn about upcoming changes to water bills

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff is hosting a drop-in event for customers to learn about upcoming changes to City water bills. The event will be held at the Flagstaff Aquaplex (1702 N Fourth St) on Saturday, May 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pizza will be provided, and all attendees will receive one free day pass to the Aquaplex facility. Adults and children are welcome.

The City Council adopted a Notice of Intent to increase water, sewer, and reclaimed water rates or rates components, fees, or service charges by Resolution 2024-19 on April 16, 2023.

Flagstaff has seen rising costs due to inflation and cost escalation for materials. These rising costs have been absorbed by delaying critical projects and putting off maintenance, but this is not sustainable in the long term. To adequately fund our operations and maintenance programs, capital programs and long-term water security, Flagstaff is evaluating water and sewer rates to keep water flowing for generations.

A rate calculator is available online for customers to calculate an estimate of their future bill by entering information about their water usage. For more information on the drop-in event, the rate calculator or the water rate study, please visit cleanwaterflagstaff.com.
