AmigosNAZ staff report

Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces continued its tradition of honoring Hispanic veteranos in Northern Arizona at the “Flagstaff Summertime Tardeada 2015” on Saturday, June 27 in the parking lot of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Veteranos were awarded certificates with the following quote:

“Thank you for your unyielding devotion to duty and dedication to something bigger then oneself. The Flagstaff Hispanic Community salutes you for your service. You are a positive representative of our community.”

The veteranos were also presented with a prayer card featuring the archangel St. Michael, who among other patronages is the patron saint of the military and solders. A statue of St. Michael, blessed by the local parish, was presented during the recognition ceremony.
