Public Invited to Attend High Occupancy Housing Plan Open Houses

City of FlagstaffFLAGSTAFF —  In November the City of Flagstaff is hosting two open houses (Nov. 14, 17) to discuss the High Occupancy Housing (HOH) Plan.

High occupancy housing is generally buildings that house more than 75 persons per acre or have more than 30 units per acre in dormitory or apartment-style units.  In July and August, the project team hosted café-style discussions with members of the community with over 80 individuals attended and produced more than 800 comments. The November Open Houses are the second step in the process and will be followed by community workshops in 2017.

At the November open houses, the project team will bring together many elements of current and possible future policies and solicit feedback and questions.  “We look forward to sharing what we have learned with the community and working towards possible solutions to the issues that have been raised concerning higher densities and neighborhoods,” says Sara Dechter, Comprehensive Planning Manager. Open Houses will include short informational presentations, posters, and open discussions with City Staff. All posters will be available for viewing at both meetings. The project team from the City, County, NAIPTA, and NAU will be available for questions, comments and discussion throughout the events. The public can come and go as they please or how their schedule allows.
