ONLINE: Deep Dive into Watercolor with Karen Elaine Fridays (four consecutive,) Jan 12, 19, 26 & Feb 2 | 11 am – 1 pm AZ timeTake a deep dive into the world of watercolor with artist Karen Elaine. Learn valuable watercolor techniques and skills while discovering the joy of watercolor, letting go, and finding meaning through creativity. Karen will also show you how to create handmade watercolor journals to record your watercolor experiences and discoveries.
ONLINE: The Living Abstract: Earthy Conte Crayon Meets Luminous Acrylics with Julie Bernstein Engelmann Fridays (three consecutive,) Feb 9, 16 & 23 | 11 am – 3 pm AZ timeIn three weekly online sessions, experience how to let the paint sing, navigate the “beautiful mess,” and bring your abstract painting to fulfilled completion—without losing its life force and what makes it beautiful. For all levels of experience.
Through demonstration and one-on-one instruction, students will learn to throw a variety of forms on the potter’s wheel or techniques to create hand-built works. Slab roller, extruder and forms are also available to create functional and decorative pieces. Class sessions are 6-weeks long and meet once/week. There will be a 1-week break from Dec. 24 – 31 for the holidays.

Painting: It’s All About Your Brush with Gretchen Lopez Friday, 1/5 | 10 am – 4:30 pmGet to know what your brushes can do in this one session course. Your brushes are an extension of you. Gain more confidence in your paintings by understanding all the techniques which go into the handling of your brushes! Instructor demonstrations and lots of individual attention provided.
Painting: Clouds and Skies with Gretchen Lopez Friday, 1/19 | 10 am – 4:30 pmExpressing movement and atmosphere in your landscapes adds an incredible vitality to the painting. In this session we will focus on the shapes of clouds, and the way the atmosphere can add depth to the composition. The way to start and add cloud shapes along with the gray or blue of the sky, will help the student become more confident with their Plein Air work as well as studio work.
Painting Crash Course with Gretchen Lopez Friday, 1/19 | 10 am – 4:30 pm All Materials Included for your use in this class!Learn the basics of starting a painting from beginning to finish!! We supply the materials, you supply your creativity! With materials included, all barriers have been removed so that you can explore the fun of painting! All you bring is yourself and clothing that you could get some paint on!
Drawing I: A Practical and Entertaining Art with Ed Buonvecchio Mondays, 1/8 – 2/12 | 9am – noonThis basic course is an introduction to the art of drawing for the beginner, but it is also a great refresher course for the seasoned artist. Drawing can be a useful and fun tool in our daily lives taking us away from our stressful day, giving us a way to express ideas or memorialize experiences.

Maybe you’ve always wanted to write a song but didn’t know how to start…or maybe you have a closet full of them but haven’t found a way to share them. In this workshop we’ll talk about the structure and technique of this ethereal art form.
Alternative Firing with Dennis Ott Sundays (two consecutive | Feb 11 & 18Join us to experience new and exciting finishing techniques. This workshop is great for a first time clay experience or for the experienced potter to explore a number of new finishes. We will be using non-traditional finishes such as Raku, Sager, Obvara and horse hair to create beautiful surface results.
Meditation to Creation with Ann Brownfield Meara Friday – Saturday | March 1 & 2A great course for those who don’t think they are creative. Tap into an inner force that truly exists in all! At the Meditation to Creation Workshop, find inner guidance to create something beautiful in addition to reflecting, writing and art making. You will also learn and practice the ancient art of meditation. Out of meditation, profound creative insights arise. No prior art, writing or meditation experience is necessary.
Mixed Media Transfer I with Michelle Sales Friday | March 8Artists from the past and present have often used images taken from existing materials such as magazines, postcards, old books, photocopies, and more to enhance their artwork. There now exists a multitude of transfer techniques available to artists. In this six-hour workshop you will learn to transfer images from various sources such as magazines, photographs, and ink or laser jet images onto cradled wood board and canvas utilizing transfer paper.
Painting Sedona Red: the Pastel Landscape Monday – Wednesday | March 18 – 20Learn to use pastels to capture the beauty of the landscape in this three-day workshop! This workshop in the studio is designed to welcome all skill levels. Think of Bruce Gomez as a Swiss Army knife of a teacher! Bruce will work with you at your individual skill level covering issues from drawing to composition as you learn how not to make mud with your pastels.
Abstract Studio: Explorations with Beverly Todd Friday – Sunday | March 22 – 24Experience the vibrant world of abstract expressionism like never before! Towards Amazing Color with Carol Douglas Monday – Friday | March 25 – 29This workshop is aimed at helping painters refine their personal technique in watercolor, pastel, oils and acrylics. It will help you find your own voice and style without becoming anyone’s clone. This is an intensive class, with morning and afternoon on-site painting sessions and lunch-time discussions and demos. Classes are kept small so every student gets the attention they deserve. Because this workshop is targeted at small groups, Carol can work with painters of all levels.
