Keeping residents updated and informed about the County’s Comprehensive Plan – Envision 2045 – is a priority for the County. We have been busy at work on the update and have news to share with you! SPRING 2024 to WINTER 2025
Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group (CPAG): The Comprehensive Plan Advisory Group (CPAG), representing all areas of the county and comprised of ranchers, environmentalists, remote communities, and members of Indigenous Nations, meets monthly to review the draft chapters. CPAG meeting agendas can be found on the project website.
The Comprehensive Plan format has been updated to streamline, improve readability, and reflect values:
Quality of Rural Lifestyle Section and Chapters: Land Use, Growth & Development; Circulation & Transportation; Resilient Economies & Housing
Stewards of the Natural Environment and Sustainability Section and Chapters: Natural Environment; Parks, Open Space, Trails and Recreation; Sustainability, Resilience, Energy and Climate; Water Resources
Diverse Communities and Services Section and Chapters: Community Services, Public Safety & Partnerships; Diverse Cultures & Community Character
Tentative Chapter Review Schedule
Join the meetings, listen to the discussion, join in person to comment during the public comment period, or send comments to the CPAG via email tomshaw@coconino.az.gov.

NOW available on project website:“Sustainability, Resilience, Energy and Climate” and “Water Resources”. To comment on the draft either 1) use the “Comment Form” on the project website, 2) email your comments to the Project Manager, or 3) attend a CPAG meeting (in-person only) and comment during the public comment section of the meeting.
Next Step: 60-Day Public Review & Open Houses
Expected by late spring of 2025 the 60-day public draft of the entire updated Comprehensive Plan – Envision 2045 will be released for public and agency review.
