Josh Copley presented the idea of having a municipal ID with minimal requirements. This would allow access to municipal services, but little else. It also poses the least risk to the city and the individual.
Citizens urged Council to look into an ID card that will help more people; immigrants, those whose gender is not reflected in current IDs, children in foster care and more. They also urged council to look beyond Phoenix to other cities.
Mayor Evans directed staff to continue looking into a more thorough ID and to look into whether or not we as a community could accept consular cards. Council member Putzova asked city staff to work with the police to clarify what level of identification would be required by police to prove identity. There was worry about whether or not we will encounter similar road blocks as Phoenix and whether or not it is a good use of council time. Josh Copley brought up the fact that we are able to use information and resources from Phoenix.

Update: Rio de Flag Project
This issue will be back at council several times in the upcoming months.
Purpose: Reduce the damages and loss that would occur as a result of a 100 year flood. A 100 year flood actually refers to a flood that has a 1 in 100 chance every year. The last 100 year flood occurred in the 1930s.
More funding is the biggest hurdle.
Public input also led to a “composite channel” being part of the proposal. This would allow for us to continue to see water flow through Flagstaff during monsoons. This channel would extend from Bonito to City Hall. It would not extend into the South Side.
Concerned citizens asked for more participation in the process where it will effect their properties. City Council asked that this request be honored and made a priority.
