Flagstaff artist Emma Gardner’s annual Day of the Dead Procession returned to downtown Flagstaff on Nov. 2. 2017. Participants gathered at the Dark Sky Brewery for a face painting session and placement of mementos on the community ofrenda before proceeding to a evening stroll along the streets of downtown.
Gardner is well known for her Día de los Muertos-inspired artwork that can be seen at MartAnne’s Cafe and Casa Duarte, with her work recently used as the official art for the 2017 Celebraciones de la Gente at the Museum of Northern Arizona.
