NAU celebrating Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month in April In addition to a roundtable discussion on anti-Asian violence, in which several NAU professors participated, the HAPA Hawaiian Club’s 15th annual lū’au will be held virtually 6 p.m. on Saturday.
NAU achieves status as Hispanic-Serving Institution This designation from the U.S. Department of Education gives NAU greater access to grants and other funding to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the attainment of, Hispanic students.

This year’s winner was Shana Lanzetta, a doctoral student in interdisciplinary health who studies the mental health of mothers who have children in the NICU.
NAU nursing instructor bringing COVID-19 vaccines to Arizona’s homebound seniors Guy Lamunyon is working with health care providers and a nonprofit organization in the Verde Valley to vaccinate seniors, who are the highest-risk group for severe COVID-19 outcomes. He hopes to bring NAU students on board to help in the fall.
NAU Theatre closes unique season with tale of monsters, imagination and healing In a world of masks and social distancing, putting on stage productions has been especially challenging. Students have had to learn to adapt their acting skills and get used to performing to a virtual audience, hoping to hear real-life applause again someday.
