My coming out story

Monday, Oct. 11, was National Coming Out Day, and IT project manager Grace Huang Ditsworth (they/them) shares what coming out has meant to them. Ditsworth said it is not a singular moment; rather, coming out is a process of wayfinding as they align themself with who they are and directs others to find and recognize them.

Postdoc Pawlok Dass co-authored a paper that found the rocky surface of our planet may provide a buffered bumper to absorb excess carbon. The catch is that society must take steps to protect it. The research explains ways to do that.

Seeing her non-English speaking parents struggle to navigate health care, Rebeca Flores-Lopez decided to pursue a career as a physician assistant. The Phoenix Biomedical Campus student hopes to use her bilingual skills and love of medicine to help the Hispanic community. In honor of Physician Assistant’s week, here is her story.
