U.S. Rep. Tom O’Halleran update for Nov. 1 — Medicare Open Enrollment has begun

I’m reaching out to share an important health care update with you and your family.

Open enrollment for Medicare has begun and will run until December 7, 2021!

The Medicare open enrollment period is your opportunity to re-evaluate your current Medicare health and prescription drug plans and make any changes that may better fit your needs for the coming year.

If you’re happy with your coverage, you don’t need to take any action; your existing plan will continue uninterrupted in 2022.

Get covered:

• Check your mail for important notices from Medicare or Social Security. These could include any changes in coverage, costs, or service area.
• Review the 2022 “Medicare & You” handbook for information about coverage and plans in your area.
• Visit Medicare.gov to create an account, or log into your existing account
• Preview2022 health and prescription drug plans.
• Get personalized help in your community with the State Health Insurance Assistance Program.

Remember, Medicare will never contact you for your Medicare Number or other personal information unless you’ve given them permission in advance. Make sure to stay vigilant and protect yourself from Medicare fraud.
