🎓Dark beginnings turn bright for dual-major graduate who found a passion for ethics🎓

Darby House faced tragedy at a young age when she lost her best friend to domestic violence. It prompted her to start Audra’s Angels charity, raise $50,000 and create a program that explained the red flags in relationships. Now she is graduating with bachelor’s degrees: in management and psychology. Through her work as an SI leader and for NAU’s Institute for Public and Professional Ethics in Leadership, House shaped her academic and professional career and instilled in her a passion for ethics. Now, she and her corgi are off to Germany where her husband is stationed; she has many plans for her future and is eager to keep making a difference.

How plants, volunteers will help NAU computer model estimate fossil fuel emissions

As part of a new $25M award from the U.S. Department of Energy to build a statewide Integrated Field Laboratory to study extreme heat, air pollution, fossil fuel emissions and their impact on people living in urban communities, the NAU team will work with researchers, community groups and plant enthusiasts across Arizona.

Future early childhood education center receives grant

Students, staff, faculty and the Flagstaff community will soon have a new option for early childhood education when the NAU Early Learning and Development Center opens in Spring 2023. Victoria Damjanovic, assistant professor in the College of Education, is the principal investigator for the newly awarded $1.8M C-CAMPIS grant that will help subsidize the cost of childcare for student parents.
