Breaking barriers for veteran student researchers

The Student Research Opportunity Grant helps military-connected students pursue their research goals. The grant of up to $6,000 was established by the Veterans and Military Service Office and Office of the Vice President for Research with the goal of creating more representation of student veterans in research fields.

NAU projected to receive highest level of research classification

NAU will achieve an R1 research designation in 2025, thanks to sustained year-over-year research expenditure performance and new criteria laid out by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.

How NAU is helping one student give back

Senior Eli Bergstein came to NAU intending to go into marketing. When the pandemic upended everything, he took a long look at what he wanted from life, realized it wasn’t that and changed his major to communications sciences and disorders with the goal of giving back to others like him with muscular dystrophy.

In between Homecoming, cheering for NAU Soccer in the Big Sky championship game and meeting with The Lumberjack board, President Cruz Rivera has been up and down I-17, meeting with partners and the Regents to promote NAU Health, making plans for another record year of fundraising and going over the coursework for the class he’s teaching next semester.
