Public utilities are commonly used to provide water, sewer, electricity, natural gas, communication systems, and other essential services. We need to start thinking of food in the same way.
Dr. Ikerd writes on sustainability and agriculture. Among his many books are Small Farms are Real Farms and Crisis and Opportunity: Sustainability in American Agriculture.

John Taylor is the visionary founder and executive director of Flagstaff’s Terra BIRDS. Committed to social and environmental transformation through gardening and outdoor based learning, Terra BIRDS engages youth of varying ages in projects that are educational, ecologically sound, and beneficial to organisms both great and small.

Beginning the week of November 13th, we assign you to a reading-action group. Each group will have at least one facilitator to help organize meetings and discussions.
