Action Alert: Attend Regional Plan

Open Houses Next Week
Complete Regional Plan Survey by April 22

Attend an In-Person Open House

The 60-day public review of the Draft Regional Plan in late 2024 generated over 2,000 comments and led to substantial revisions to the Plan. The review revealed some important topics and issues that merit additional input from the community to guide the next steps of revising the plan.

Join City staff at one of the two Open Houses next week to learn about the public’s comments and discuss how the Plan has been revised. The community also can provide feedback via the public survey (see below), and learn about the next steps for adoption of the Regional Plan. The Open Houses will take place at the following dates and locations:

  • Tuesday, April 15: 5:30-7:30 pm at the Flagstaff Aquaplex, 1702 N. Fourth St.
  • Thursday, April 17: 5:30-7:30 pm at the Boys & Girls Club of Flagstaff, 301 S. Paseo Del Flag

Complete the Regional Plan Spring Survey by April 22

Even if you’re not able to attend one of the Open Houses, please weigh in on the revised Regional Plan content and key topics by completing the online survey. Key topic include the plan’s priorities, neighborhood density, commercial development, gentrification, and creating a sense of place. Your input is important! The survey will close on Tuesday, April 22nd.

The link to the survey can be found here.

Next Steps

On Friday, May 2nd, the revised Regional Plan will be reviewed and discussed by City Council, the County Board of Supervisors, and the City and County Planning and Zoning Commissions during a full day joint retreat. The public’s comments expressed during the Open Houses and via the Spring Survey will inform their discussions and recommendations.

This joint retreat is open to the public. It will take place at the Aquaplex, 1702 N. Fourth St., from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. The meeting will also be viewable live online. F3 will share the online link to the meeting when it is released.

At this time, the City of Flagstaff is anticipating holding public hearings on the Regional Plan at the Planning and Zoning Commission this July and August, and in September at the City Council. This schedule will allow the Regional Plan to be on the ballot in a special city election taking place in March or May 2026. Coconino County is on a different schedule for adoption of their Comprehensive Plan.
