Shrek The Musical, Unleash Your Inner Ogre
|
Get ready for an exciting adventure with TheatriKids! We’re thrilled to present our upcoming production of Shrek The Musical!
Step into a vibrant world where ogres are the heroes, donkeys have the gift of gab, and fairytales get a delightful twist. Join the grumpy but lovable Shrek and his endlessly entertaining sidekick Donkey on their quest to rescue the spirited Princess Fiona.
This spectacular show is bursting with catchy tunes, dazzling characters, and a wonderful message about celebrating what makes you unique. From the murky swamp to a towering castle, you’ll find yourself singing along and tapping your feet at every turn. Through acting, singing, and dancing, we’ll explore the power of friendship and the beauty of acceptance. Get ready to let your inner ogre shine!
Based on the beloved Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and the fantastic Broadway musical, Shrek The Musical reminds us that “beauty is in the eye of the ogre.” This “big bright beautiful world” follows everyone’s favorite green recluse, Shrek, as he leads a cast of fairytale misfits on a journey to rescue a princess and, unexpectedly, find true acceptance. Part romance, part fractured fairytale, Shrek The Musical is an irreverently fun experience with a powerful message for the entire family.
Don’t miss out on the magic! Performances run June 20 – 29.

Hilarious Chaos in The Play That Goes Wrong
|
Get ready, Flagstaff, for an evening of glorious, unscripted (or so it seems!) chaos! Theatrikos Theatre Company is absolutely thrilled to bring you the uproariously funny The Play That Goes Wrong! Prepare for a theatrical experience where “community theatre” takes on a whole new, hilariously disastrous meaning!
Imagine a classic 1920s murder mystery, The Murder at Haversham Manor, bravely (and perhaps foolishly) staged by the enthusiastic but spectacularly inept Cornley Drama Society. Now, picture every single thing that could possibly go wrong in a play… and then multiply that by ten! We’re talking doors with minds of their own, props that seem to have a vendetta against the actors, and lines that mysteriously vanish into the ether. This is just the tip of the iceberg in this side-splitting comedy of errors!
But don’t be fooled into thinking this delightful disarray happens by accident! Our incredibly talented cast has been working tirelessly, meticulously perfecting their deliberately imperfect performances. Every dropped line, every hilariously mistimed sound cue, every stubbornly sticky door and precariously collapsing set piece is carefully choreographed for maximum comedic impact, all while ensuring the safety of our amazing performers.
Actor Nick Rabe, who plays Cornley Drama Society’s Robert and Thomas Colleymoore in The Murder at Haversham Manor shares, “Working as an actor on the production of The Play That Goes Wronghas been an overwhelmingly positive experience. Returning to the stage again after many years away, it has been hugely rewarding personally working with director Jan Rominger for the first time. It’s always amazing to see how many people volunteer their time and expertise to bring a show to life, the cast and crew are really putting in tireless work and I am positive that this production is going to blow audiences away with its technical complexity and non-stop laughs.”
Don’t miss your chance to witness this spectacular theatrical train wreck! The Play That Goes Wrongwill be delighting (and possibly slightly terrifying) audiences at Theatrikos through June 1st.
