Adult & All-Ages Events

Flyer advertising the Wily Writers program. Flyer style resembles a piece of notebook paper. This is a weekly writing group. It takes place every Wednesday at the new time of 5:30pm, and is located in the Northwest corner of the Downtown Library. Make writing a habit with practice! With the use of prompts, time allotments, and group sharing, Wily Writers will learn more about their writing and support others along the way. You bring your writing tools and we’ll bring the fun!
Flyer shows program “Virtual Reality (VR) for Seniors. Come and try our new VR technology! Now is your chance to experience a virtual adventure to a new place you’ve never been, or try a new experience. Program will take place at a special location, The Peaks, 3150 N. Winding Brook Road. 20 minutes slots are available for each experience. Program happening on Thursday, May 29th, from 11am to 2pm.
Flyer depicts Book Swap coming up at the library on Sunday, June 8th, from 9am – 12pm. Taking place at the downtown community room. Flyer shows bright colors and stacked sketched books. Ready to spring clean your bookshelves? Bring your no longer wanted books to swap with your community! All ages and genres welcome. Books must be in good condition. Limited to 1 large box brought per person. Books unwanted at the end of the event can be donated to the friends of the library.
Book Clubs
Flyer is advertising the Southwest Reads book club. This book club is every 4th Wednesday of every other month. There is a forest green border, and a light background of tree bark. On the left side of the flyer, a cover of the book selection, “Fire Season: Field Notes From a Wilderness Lookout”, by Philip Connors, is shown. This program will take place on May 28 in the Downtown Library Community Room. “A reflection on life as a fire lookout, the wildness of fire, our place in nature, and the charms of solitude”.
Flyer depicts Poetry Book Club coming up in June. Join us every other month to discuss poetry. Stick around (if interested) for writing exercises afterwards! Flyer shows a background of two lying tigers. Club will take place at 5:30pm on June 5th, at the Downtown library. The book of the month will be “Bestiary”. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk and meet in the northwest corner!
Youth Events
Flyer shows outdoor scenes and trees to show program upcoming on May 27th. The Kids event will take place at the Downtown library at 1:30pm and ages 3 to 9. The Tween-Teen program will take place at East Flagstaff Community library at 1:30pm, ages 10-16.
Flyer depicts a library program called Saturday Story Stop Story Times. There is a graphic of multiple colorfukl rainbows and flowers, in the theme of Color Our World for the Summer Reading Challenge 2025. This is a year round program taking place at the Downtown Flagstaff Library in the Community Room. The program starts at 10:30am. Join us for fun on stories for the whole family!
Flyer depicts ad for Teen Volunteer applications for the Flagstaff Libraries. Need community service hours? Want to see how libraries work? Come help the Downtown and East Flagstaff Community Libraries with the Summer Reading Challenge 2025 running from June 9th to July 25th. Ages 14-18 and applications will be due on May 30th!
Flyer depicts advertisement for the upcoming Summer Reading Challenge. The theme of this year’s challenge is “Color Your World”. The flyer is very colorful, showing flowers and the “Color Your World” logo. The program will start on June 9th at both libraries.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more. Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
