2 New Kids Clay Classes Just Added! at Sedona Arts Center
Clay Luminaries: Light up your Imagination!
for Ages 7-12 with Kim Sammartano July 24, 2025 – Thursday, 9am-12pm — $50
In this creative workshop, kids will design and build a set of three ceramic candle holders Inspired by the magic of glowing lanterns. Each piece will turn into a mini luminary that sparkles when lit from within!
What They’ll Learn:
Rolling and shaping clay slabs into sturdy forms
Carving and punching decorative patterns to let the light shine through
Exploring surface textures and choosing colorful glaze finishes
Young artists will get step-by-step guidance while having the freedom to bring their imagination to life. Tuition includes all materials, glazes, and firings. (Finished pieces will be fired after class and available for pickup or shipping.)

Clay Birdhouses:
Build a Home for Feathered Friends!
for Ages 7-12 with Kim Sammartano July 25, 2025 – Friday, 9am-12pm — $50
In this hands-on ceramics class, kids will design and build their very own birdhouse—from cozy woodland cottages to whimsical fairy-tale homes, each creation will be as unique as its maker. Along the way, students will build clay skills, practice planning and design, and nurture a love for nature and creative expression.
What They’ll Learn & Create:
Foundational Techniques: Kids will explore slab rolling, secure attachment, and surface decoration using natural textures and stamps.
Design & Glazing: Students will sketch a blueprint, build their structure from clay, and add color with vibrant underglazes to personalize their birdhouse.
Class Highlights:
Inspired Design: Imagination is encouraged—each child’s idea comes to life in clay.
Structured Learning: Students gain real clay knowledge and guidance for building sturdy, lasting pieces.
Materials Included: Tuition includes all clay, glazes, and firings. Some projects will be fired after class and available for later pickup. Shipping available upon request.
