Book Clubs
Three seniors sit together with books in a cozy reading room, promoting the Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. The featured book for July is Tom Lake by Ann Patchett, meeting on July 21st at 1:00 PM, the 3rd Monday of the month. An upcoming August pick, The God of the Woods by Liz Moore, is also highlighted.
An environmental-themed book club flyer for “Southwest Reads Book Club” announces the July 23rd meeting at 6:00 PM in the Downtown Library Community Room. The featured title is Life After Dead Pool by Zak Podmore, which examines the environmental and societal implications of Lake Powell’s decline. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every other month.
Youth Events
A colorful flyer titled “Storytimes” with the theme “Color Our World / Colorea Nuestro Mundo,” decorated with a sun, rainbow, butterfly, and playful graphics. Bouncing Babies takes place June 20 and July 18 at 10:30 AM and features interactive songs and movement for babies. Toddler Tales runs June 17 and July 22 on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM, with stories, songs, and fun for toddlers. Preschool Express runs June 26 through July 24 on Thursdays at 10:30 AM and includes stories, songs, and surprise activities for preschoolers. Saturday Story Stop happens year-round at 10:30 AM and offers stories and fun for the whole family. A small red fire truck graphic notes a special visit on July 13.
A flyer for a "Beat Saber Tournament" invites youth ages 12+ to compete for the highest score in a rhythm-based VR game. The event is scheduled for Monday, July 21st, 2025, from 1:30–3:00 PM. The design features neon graphics, a soundwave, and glowing sabers, with the tagline “Color Our World.”
Flyer for the 2024 Paws to Read program at the Downtown Library, part of the “Adventure Begins at Your Library” summer reading theme. Kids who can read independently are invited to sign up to read to a real therapy dog. Sign-up is in person at Youth Services. The program runs from June 12 to July 24, with 20-minute sessions available on Mondays from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. The flyer features paw print accents, an illustration of a child reading on a couch, and a small therapy dog sitting beside them.
A playful flyer for the Awful Art Competition encourages youth ages 8+ to team up and create hilariously bad, “not so gallery worthy” art. The event takes place on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, at 1:30 PM. The background mimics Starry Night with a fun, messy twist, matching the spirit of the competition.
A colorful flyer for LEGO Club at the East Flagstaff Community Library invites kids ages 5–11 to build and play on select Tuesdays: June 10, June 24, July 8, and July 22, from 3:30–4:30 PM. Part of the 2025 Color Our World summer theme, the design features playful sketches of LEGO bricks and bright doodles.
A cheerful flyer for Family Storytime 2025 invites families to join weekly sessions on Wednesdays: June 11, June 25, July 9, and July 23, from 9:30–10:15 AM. Hosted outdoors under the community ramada at Bushmaster Park (near the east entrance), the program is part of the Color Our World summer series and features vibrant illustrations of books and storytelling fun.
A vibrant flyer for "Wonderful World of Artists" promotes a teen-led event at the Downtown Library on July 23, 2025, from 4:00–5:15 PM. Open to ages 10–18, the program promises a 75-minute cultural adventure featuring games, art-making, and fun activities designed by SRC teen volunteers. The colorful globe and playful icons highlight the theme: “Experience culture like never before!”
Paws to Read at the East Flagstaff Community Library invites kids who are reading independently to sign up for a special reading session with a real therapy dog! Sessions run on Thursdays from June 12th to July 24th, between 11 AM and 1 PM, and are 20 minutes long. Come to the front desk at EFCL to sign your child up in person. Note: there will be no program on June 19th, as both libraries will be closed in celebration of Juneteenth.
Get your game on at Game Day, part of Color Our World 2025 at the East Flagstaff Community Library! Open to ages 8–17, this weekly program features video games and tabletop games every Thursday from June 12 to July 24, 3:00 to 4:30 PM. Please note there will be no Game Day on June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
A fun and interactive flyer for the Kid Book Club invites children ages 8+ to join on Thursday, July 24th at 4:00 PM for snacks, games, discussion, and button-making. The featured book is The Mona Lisa is Missing from the Choose Your Own Adventure series. Participants can pick up a free copy at the Downtown Library Youth Services desk starting July 3rd, then read the book and come ready to engage! Part of the Color Our World 2025 summer series.
A cheerful flyer announces the Summer Reading Challenge Wrap-Up Party on Friday, July 25th, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, held outside on the back lawn. Open to all ages, the celebration includes games, snacks, crafts, a big slide, bounce house, and balloon toss. The design features colorful hot air balloons and a sunny “Color Our World” theme, encouraging everyone to celebrate their SRC accomplishments!

The program takes place every Saturday at 10:30 AM and includes stories and fun for the whole family. Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.
