Criminal Justice Coordination Council (CJCC) Citizen’s Academy now accepting applications

Are you curious about the workings of our local justice system?

COCONINO COUNTY — The Criminal Justice Coordination Council (CJCC) Citizen’s Academy offers a unique chance to delve into the people, processes and programs that shape justice in our community. Engage with judges, the Clerk of the Courts, adult probation officers and Flagstaff City officials to gain insight into the intricacies of the criminal justice system.

This free, four-session series is designed to educate and engage residents in a relaxed, interactive setting. Whether you’re simply interested or considering a future in law, government or community service, this academy is for you!

The sessions are from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. every Wednesday in February 2026 at 110 E Cherry Ave Ste 3. The topics include Understanding Our Courts on Feb.4, Who’s Who in the Justice System on Feb. 11, Sentencing and Second Chances on Feb. 18 and Real-World Case Study + Q&A on Feb. 25.

Participants who complete all four sessions will be recognized at a Coconino County Board of Supervisors meeting and receive a certificate of completion.

Spaces are limited, participants must be 18 years or older and the deadline to apply is Jan. 15, 2026.
