Phantom Ranch Reopens; Water Restored to Inner Canyon Facilities
Phantom Ranch has reopened following the successful repair of multiple breaks along the Transcanyon Waterline, and water service has now been restored to Phantom Ranch, Bright Angel Campground, Boat Beach, and the Delta restrooms. Park water utilities crews completed repairs near Manzanita Rest Area and the mule corral near Phantom Ranch, allowing the system to be repressurized and inner canyon operations to resume.
On the South Rim, water tanks are slowly refilling as the system stabilizes. Grand Canyon National Park remains under Stage 2 water restrictions, and residents are encouraged to continue reducing water use wherever possible to support system recovery. Utilities staff will continue monitoring the waterline and system pressures as operations return to normal.

Planned Communications Outage – Tuesday, Feb. 3
A planned communications outage will take place Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., affecting microwave-supported services throughout the Grand Canyon area and the D.W. Tower Warehouse Telecommunications Site. This work supports critical infrastructure upgrades to improve long-term reliability and power sustainability.
During the 4-6 hour outage, AT&T, T-Mobile, and 911 services in the South Rim Village area may be impacted. Verizon service will remain available via another tower but may be spotty in some locations. Most newer model cell phones can still place 911 calls via satellite if cellular service is unavailable.
Technicians will be on site throughout the outage, and a temporary generator will support operations during the work. The maintenance window was selected to minimize impacts during a low-traffic period and account for winter access and safety considerations. |

| Support Local Giving Through the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit
Did you know there are two local nonprofit organizations within the Grand Canyon community that qualify for the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit? The Kaibab Learning Center (KLC) and the Grand Canyon Food Pantry are recognized as Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCOs), allowing eligible Arizona taxpayers to receive a dollar-for-dollar credit on their state taxes for donations made to these organizations.
Through the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit, Arizona residents can direct their tax dollars to causes that directly support the community—providing childcare and early learning services through the KLC and food assistance for local residents and families through the Food Pantry. The credit can be claimed even if taxpayers do not itemize deductions.
In addition to QCOs, the Arizona Public School Tax Credit is also available. Donations made under this program support Grand Canyon School and are separate from QCO contributions, allowing taxpayers to support both charitable organizations and public education through different tax credit programs.
To learn more, visit the Arizona Department of Revenue webpage on Credits for Contributions to QCOs or Public School Tax Credit page. |

| Grand Canyon National Park, in northern Arizona, encompasses 278 miles (447 km) of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. Located on the ancestral homeland of 11 Associated Tribes, Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular examples of erosion anywhere in the world—unmatched in the incomparable vistas it offers visitors on the rim. Grand Canyon National Park is a World Heritage Site. The National Park Service cares for the special places saved by the American people so that all may experience our heritage. |
