Engineering Camps are now open for registration in collaboration with the Northern Arizona University College of Engineering! These camps are designed for current middle school students and run Monday-Thursday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No experience is required, and each camp is $290. Students can choose from exciting topics like Robotics and Video Design or Civil & Environmental Engineering and Semiconductors & Microelectronics.

Robotics

Offered three separate weeks (June 1-4, 8-11, and 22-25)

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of robotics & engineering while building and programming a robot. The camp will incorporate the engineering design process, computational thinking, team building, and robot assembly. You don’t need any prior experience with robotics.

Video Game Design

Offered three separate weeks (June 1-4, 8-11, and 22-25)

Students will be introduced to the fundamentals of storyboarding, game creation, team building, game testing, and development. Students will design and build their own games to play and share- no programming experience required. Unleash your creativity with hands-on game development and bring your image to life as you time into fun, interactive software.

Semiconductors & Microelectronics

Offered one week only (July 6-9)

Discover the tiny technology that powers our world in the Semiconductors & Microelectronics camp. Middle school students will explore how computer chips are designed and how they make devices like smartphones and cars work. Through hands-on activities and team challenges, campers will build circuits, experiment with breadboards, and learn how microchips are made with no prior experience needed.

Civil & Environmental Engineering

Offered one week only (July 6-9)

The 2026 Civil & Environmental Engineering Day Camp is a 4-day experience for rising 7th-9th graders who want to design, build, and solve real-world challenges. Campers explore how bridges, roads, cities, and water systems are created while learning how engineers protect the environment. Through hands- on activities and experiments, students test materials, build models, and develop creative solutions with no prior experience needed.
