COCONINO COUNTY — Eilise Fisher has been selected Workforce Development Director under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunities Act after being appointed by the ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Workforce Development Department.

Her first day serving in the position will be April 20.

“Eilise Fisher’s combined experience as a small business owner and project manager for Arizona’s WIOA Rapid Response Program gives her a full-circle understanding of the workforce system from the perspective of both an employer and an administrator,” Coconino County Board Chair and District 1 Supervisor Patrice Horstman said. “She also has a fantastic track record working at the city, county and state level so we are excited to welcome her back to the Coconino County team.”

Fisher most recently served as a project manager for the State of Arizona Department of Economic Security’s Rapid Response program, providing assistance to workers and employers in Northern Arizona impacted by job loss whether through layoffs, facility closures or natural disasters. The program identifies, plans for and responds to layoffs while providing strategies and tools to minimize community impact.

“The CCWDB appointed Eilise Fisher as the Workforce Development Director for Coconino County because she knows Northern Arizona and the intricacies of our workforce environment,” CCWDB Chair Shannon Shoots said. “She brings a host of strategies to elevate our local workforce, and I look forward to her leadership.”

Under the direction of ARIZONA@WORK Coconino County Workforce Development Board and in partnership with Coconino County Board of Supervisors, the Director is responsible for developing innovative workforce strategies that help businesses, employers, individuals and industries achieve and sustain economic vitality throughout Coconino County.

“I am excited to bring a comprehensive and practical understanding of workforce systems, public administration and the real-world needs of employers and job seekers across Coconino County,” Fisher said. “I have lived in the County for over 20 years and understand the diverse workforce needs of our rural, Tribal, tourism-driven and small business communities and look forward to getting started.”
