APS Potential APS Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS): Water, Ice, and Cooling Resources

Arizona Public Service (APS) has announced the potential for a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) due to forecasted critical fire weather conditions. While no outage has been confirmed at this time, Grand Canyon National Park and APS are providing community resources to help residents prepare should a PSPS be implemented.

As conditions change, we will send more alerts and information on updated resources.

VILLAGE WATER AND ICE DISTRIBUTION

Distribution Schedule

Friday 3 – 7 pm

Saturday 9 am – 1 pm

Each household may receive up to four (4) bags of ice and one (1) flat of bottled water each day of distribution, while supplies last. Households must pick up supplies during each day’s scheduled distribution to receive that day’s allocation. Supplies cannot be picked up in advance or carried over to another day.

DESERT VIEW WATER AND ICE DISTRIBUTION

Water and ice distribution will also be available for Desert View residents.

Distribution hours are still being finalized and will be announced through official park communication channels as soon as they are confirmed.

IF YOU CAN’T PICK UP SUPPLIES DURING DISTRIBUTION HOUR

If you are unable to pick up supplies for any reason, two options are available:

Option 1 – Have Someone Pick Up Supplies for You

A family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor may pick up supplies on your behalf.

They should know your:

  • Name
  • Physical address
  • Phone number

If you are picking up supplies for another household, please let distribution staff know when you arrive.

Option 2 – Arrange an Alternate Pickup

If you are unable to attend the scheduled distribution times and cannot arrange for someone else to pick up supplies, please call: 928-405-2068

Park staff will work with you to identify an alternate pickup solution whenever possible.

Please use this number only if you are unable to attend the scheduled distribution times and cannot have someone pick up supplies on your behalf.

COOLING AND CHARGING STATIONS (SATURDAY)

If a Public Safety Power Shutoff occurs, the following locations will be available for cooling, charging electronic devices, and receiving community information:

Need Assistance Getting to a Cooling and Charging Station?

If you need assistance getting to the Albright Training Center cooling and charging station, please call 928-405-2068. Park staff will work with you to identify available transportation or other assistance whenever possible.
