Coconino County — Switch Together solar co-op deadline is Sept. 18

COCONINO COUNTY — As part of our sustainability initiative, Coconino County is a partner in Switch Together, a group buying program for solar installations. Switch Together uses a group buying model to help residents save money on home solar installations.

The most recent auction secured a discount of 17 percent, which translates to an average discount of $5,200. The program is supported in partnership with nonprofit Solar United Neighbors. Switch Together makes rooftop solar installations more affordable, while also offering solar education through online resources and in-person events.

“Switch Together is a great example of how we can make a difference for our residents and our environment at the same time,” Coconino County District 1 Supervisor and Chair of the Board Patrice Horstman said. “Together, homeowners can use their collective buying power to make solar more affordable, potentially lowering their energy costs while investing in cleaner, renewable energy. It’s a win for household budgets and a win for the future of Coconino County.”

Solar United Neighbors will also be hosting a free virtual Solar 101 session on Thursday, August 20 at 6 p.m. to help educate residents about solar technology and economics, particularly in a changing energy landscape. Visit SwitchTogether.com/Solar/CoconinoCounty to sign up or learn more.

The final day to register for the program is Friday, September 18, 2026. Participants will receive a free personal recommendation. Registration is free and there is no obligation to accept an offer.
