There are now five candidates running for Council in November for three open seats. Candidates include incumbents Austin Aslan, Khara House, and Lori Matthews. Two new candidates are competing for these seats: Nancy Baca and Patty Hanson. All five candidates will attend this forum.
The Candidate Forum is organized to allow attendees to ask questions of and interact directly with each candidate in small breakout rooms. Small groups of 15-20 community members will interact with each candidate in a quiet room for a period of 15 minutes. Candidates themselves will rotate between five separate breakout rooms while attendees stay in place.
The F3 Forum begins at 6:00 pm in the Commons Area with a “meet and greet” opportunity for attendees to mingle with the candidates. The formal program will start at 6:30 pm with two-minute statements from the candidates, before attendees move into breakout rooms. The Forum is expected to run until approximately 8:30 pm.
F3 is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and legally cannot endorse candidates for office. F3 has been holding a council candidate forum every election year since 2014 (with the exception of 2020).
F3 produced a Candidate Questionnaire prior to the primary election this July. View the questionnaire organized by candidates’ names as a PDF that will automatically download when selected. [Note that former candidates CJ Lucke is no longer on the ballot, and Drew Stanley has withdrawn from the race, although his name will still appear on the ballot.]
F3 compiles a “Voter’s Guide to State and Local Propositions ” in the fall of each election year. The 2026 Guide will be available on or before September 28. Keep an eye out for the email or go to friendsofflagstaff.org.
