COCONINO COUNTY — Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is offering vaccinations against flu, COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and pneumonia at our Walk-in Vaccination Clinics. These clinics are held at the CCHHS Health and Wellness Clinic, located at 2625 N. King Street, Flagstaff, every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Sept. 22 through Nov. 4. Appointments are not needed to receive your vaccination at these clinics.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends a yearly flu vaccination as the first step in protecting against flu viruses. It is strongly recommended that everyone 6 months old and over gets a flu shot each year.
COVID-19 vaccines are available for those 6 months and older.
RSV vaccine is recommended for anyone 75 and older that has never received one before and for those 50 and older that are at an increased risk of severe respiratory illness due to chronic conditions.
Pneumonia (pneumococcal) vaccine is recommended for all adults 50 years or older, as well as adults 19 through 49 years old with certain risk conditions.
A combination of vaccines can be administered during the same visit.
In addition to getting recommended vaccinations, good health habits will help you stay well. These simple actions can stop the spread of germs and help protect you and others from getting sick:
- Wash hands frequently.
- Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth.
- Avoid contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your mouth with your upper sleeve or tissue when coughing or sneezing.
- Don’t share eating utensils, cups and straws.
- Stay home when you are sick.
