THE 22ND ANNUAL SEDONA PLEIN AIR FESTIVAL IS ALMOST HERE!

October 16–24, 2026

For nine days this October, 26 artists from across the country will spread out across Sedona and the Verde Valley, painting the landscape as it changes around them—capturing the light, color and extraordinary beauty of Red Rock Country in real time.

And you don’t have to experience the festival from a distance.

This year, there are several special opportunities to join us where the painting is happening—from an evening among the vineyards at D.A. Ranch to an intimate private Sedona residence, or by picking up your own brushes and participating in the Community Paint Out.

D.A. Ranch Paint Out

Monday | 4 – 7 p.m. | $45 per guest

Watch festival artists paint throughout the breathtaking grounds of D.A. Ranch from 4–6 p.m., followed at 6:30 p.m. by awards and an exclusive sale of the works created that afternoon.

Explore the historic red barn, pastures, ponds, orchards and estate vineyards while enjoying D.A. Ranch wines available for purchase, a grazing table from The Tiny Gourmet and live music by the Gina Machovina Duo.

Wednesday | 4 – 7 p.m. | $60

Experience plein air painting in an intimate setting surrounded by sweeping Sedona red rock views. Watch festival artists paint from 4–6 p.m., followed by awards and an exclusive art sale beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Enjoy wine, beer and Southwest BBQ by Heartline Catering as the sun sets over Sedona.

Community Paint Out

Saturday | Registration begins at 9 a.m. | $15

Now it’s your turn to paint!

Artists of all ages and skill levels are invited to join the Community Paint Out on the Sedona Arts Center campus. Create your work on site, meet other artists and experience the energy of the festival from the other side of the easel.

Painting continues until noon, followed by judging. Participants may offer their finished work for sale during the event and compete for:

$250 First Place • $150 Second Place • $50 Third Place • Five Honorable Mentions

The Community Paint Out is part of our big final festival day, with the Final Art Sale from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., “Fur”ever Paintings by PetSmart from 10 a.m.–1 p.m., and Artist Pumpkin Painting from 11 a.m.–Noon. Those Saturday details match the final release. SPAF2026
