I’m excited to share that United Way of Northern Arizona’s 2026-2027 Annual Campaign is officially underway.

This year, we’re working to raise $1.2 million to fund programs that increase youth opportunity, promote healthy communities, foster financial security, and strengthen community resiliency across Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties.

Our theme this year is Give Where You Live. United at Its Peak. It celebrates the power of local giving and what we can accomplish in northern Arizona when we come together.

From the desk of:

Liz Archuleta

President & CEO

UWNA will be holding our Annual Campaign Breakfast on Thursday, October 29 at High Country Conference Center, where UWNA will focus on the significant impact of giving locally. We will also celebrate the work of this year’s “Pacesetters,” local companies and organizations that help give the annual campaign a head start. (Register HERE.)
I’m also thrilled to introduce this year’s campaign co-chairs, Steve Peru and Beth Otterstein. They’re no strangers to this role – they co-chaired the annual campaign back in 2012 – and they both have a strong commitment to our community and a unique appreciation for the work we do at UWNA.

As most of you know, Steve served twice as our Coconino County Manager (2006-2011 and 2021-2024). In between he was the President & CEO of UWNA and also served as Chief External Affairs Officer for Coconino Community College. He retired in 2024. Beth is a retired nurse practitioner who has served on numerous nonprofit boards, including The Guidance Center and Cancer Support Community Arizona.

At a time when many of our neighbors are facing increasing financial pressures, the work of United Way and our community partners is more important than ever. I’m so grateful to Steve and Beth for leading this campaign so that everyone who calls northern Arizona home can thrive.

Funds raised will support several initiatives based here at UWNA, including KinderCamp™ and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, as well as almost 40 partner programs throughout the region. Your gifts help sustain homeless shelters, food banks, literacy programs, teen leadership training, emergency services, and more.

Through our Local Impact | Greatest Need giving option, donors give us the flexibility to respond as community needs change. Our local Community Investment volunteers use data and program evaluations to guide funding decisions and make the greatest impact across northern Arizona. It’s a way for neighbors to help neighbors by working together to build a stronger community.

We hope you’ll be part of this campaign! If your place of employment offers a workplace campaign, please get in touch with your coordinator – you can even have your donation taken right out of your paycheck throughout the year. (And if you are a workplace interested in supporting UWNA, please reach out to us – we’d love to help you set up a workplace giving program!)

You can also donate here, safely and security, on our website.

As Steve says: “United Way is in a unique position to convene business, government, community groups, nonprofits and others to make lasting positive changes. The annual campaign is a great opportunity to give where you live and support northern Arizona.”

Join us on Thursday, October 29 for our Annual Campaign Breakfast at the High Country Conference Center.

This year’s campaign is an opportunity for northern Arizona families to come together, support their neighbors, and invest in the communities they call home. We hope to see you there!
