FLAGSTAFF — Neither rain, hail nor a little snow failed to dampen the spirit of the 23rd annual Celebraciones de la Gente held on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23 and 24 at the Museum of Northern Arizona. The annual Day of the Dead/Día de los Muertos remembrance was presented in partnership with Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces.

The 23rd annual Celebraciones de la Gente featured headline performances by Mariachi Agave from Tucson and Flagstaff’s own Ballet Folklorico de Colores, which has performed at the annual event since Celebraciones was founded in 2003. The event also included a number of cultural lectures and the ever-popular sugar skull-decorating workshops.

Photos and videos courtesy of Ruth Eaton, members of Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces and the staff of the Museum of Northern Arizona show the vibrant festival continued despite the challenging weather conditions.
