COCONINO COUNTY — The Coconino County Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC) is partnering with several County departments and community organizations to bring the Justice Bus to Tusayan Town Hall, located at 845 Mustang Way, Tusayan, Ariz., on Tuesday, August 11, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Justice Bus brings court services, County resources, and community support directly to rural communities, making it easier for residents to access important services without traveling to Flagstaff.
The Coconino County Attorney’s Office (CAO), Legal Defender’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Adult Probation, Elections Department, Recorder’s Office, Health and Human Services (CCHHS) and other community partners will be available to assist community members throughout the event.
The Superior Court in Coconino County will provide walk-in services beginning at 10 a.m. Court staff will be available to assist with quashing eligible outstanding warrants, applying for marriage licenses or passports, name changes on birth certificates, sealing eligible court records, restoration of civil rights applications, filing court documents, reviewing court records, obtaining court documents and paying outstanding Superior Court fines and fees. Please note that payments must be made by cash, money order or cashier’s check.
In addition to eligible Superior Court warrants, qualifying Coconino County Justice Court and Municipal Court warrants may also be addressed during the event. The County Attorney’s Office will have applications available for marijuana conviction expungement.
Additional County departments and community organizations will offer information, referrals and assistance with a variety of services, including public benefits, behavioral health resources, victim services, employment assistance, voter registration and other community resources.
“Everyone deserves access to justice and the resources that help individuals and families move forward,” Dianna Kalandros CJCC Director said. “The Justice Bus is about meeting people where they are by bringing courts, services and community partners together to remove barriers, strengthen connections and ensure support is available closer to home.”
The Coconino County Recorder’s Office will provide voter registration materials and answer questions about voter registration and elections.
