Reminder! Apply for a Beautification in Action Grant by Sept. 15

Artists, local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community groups—this is your chance to transform Flagstaff’s shared spaces. The City of Flagstaff, through the Beautification and Public Art Commission, is accepting Beautification in Action (BIA) grants of up to $8,000 for creative projects that add character and beauty to our community. Eligible projects must be in publicly accessible locations and can include murals, sculptures, community or pollinator gardens, decorative benches, neighborhood pathways, and more.

Call to Artists: Temporary 3D Illusion Street Art/Route 66 Centennial Celebration

In celebration of the Route 66 Centennial on June 6, 2026, the City of Flagstaff seeks proposals for temporary street art (in chalk or tempera paint) that manipulate perspective to create interactive, 3D illusions and/or offer unique opportunities for pedestrians to engage with the art and take memorable photographs. The finished street art will be allowed to naturally deteriorate or be power washed away at the end of the Celebration. Selected artists will be paid up to $7,000.

Call to Artists: S’edav Va’aki Museum- Indigenous Identities Exhibition

The S’edav Va’aki Museum seeks artists who have a lived experience and rich connection with Native American tribes in Arizona for an upcoming exhibition, Indigenous Identities. Artwork should explore the complexity, diversity, and resilience of indigenous voices though visual, sculptural, digital, or mixed media arts. Artists are encouraged to challenge stereotypes, reclaim narratives, and share stories that speak to identity in both personal and collective ways. Artwork may be previously created or newly proposed. Up to 10 artists will be selected. Honorarium of $1,000 for each selected artist.

Call to Artists: City of Goodyear Traffic Signal Cabinets Project

The City of Goodyear is seeking Arizona artists to aesthetically treat utility infrastructure throughout the community. Artists will transform traffic signal control cabinets into colorful, inspired works of art. The artwork will either be painted directly on the cabinet or created digitally as a vinyl wrap that will be applied to the cabinet.

Painted Cabinet: Artist will be compensated $2,000
Wrapped Cabinet: Artist will be compensated $1,200
