Design for the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library Bookmobile

The City of Flagstaff announces a public art opportunity for artists, graphic designers, and illustrators to create a design for the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library Bookmobile. This project is an opportunity to enhance the visual landscape by using the bookmobile as a canvas for meaningful and relevant visual expression. Artists are encouraged to use a variety of media, including digital imagery, painting, drawing, photography, collage, etc. to develop their proposed designs that will be transferred to vinyl wraps. The artist whose design proposal is chosen will each receive a payment of $4,000.

Buffalo Park Water Tank Mural

The City of Flagstaff seeks Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for an artist or artist team to design and execute a large-scale mural on a water tank at Buffalo Park. This highly visible project envisions an artwork that will become an emblematic feature of the park and the surrounding area. The mural could reflect Flagstaff, Northern Arizona, the current activity and/or history of the park, or the communities that utilize this natural and recreational resource among other ideas.

Five finalists will receive an honorarium of $5,000. The total budget for this project is up to $300,000 for fabrication and installation.

Honor the Women Continuing the Work

Culture Connection AZ, in partnership with the Martin-Springer Institute, presents Resilience Revisited: The Women Continuing the Legacy.This exhibition celebrates the lived experiences of women in Northern Arizona and highlights those carrying forward the legacy of the groundbreaking women featured in the original Resilience exhibition. As part of its programming, Culture Connection AZ is seeking nominations of women whose creativity, leadership, service, advocacy, or care for others is strengthening our community—across nonprofits, education, business, arts and culture, health and caretaking, grassroots organizing, and more. Selected nominees will be honored at the exhibition’s opening reception on Friday, March 6, and featured in a digital exhibition highlighting their work and impact.

Applications for LIFT now open! The Native Arts + Cultures Foundation’s LIFT: Early Career Support for Native Artists program provides one-year awards to emerging Native artists who are shaping new projects and expanding the future of their respective Native practices.

LIFT includes:
