Apply for a Beautification in Action Grant

Artists, local businesses, nonprofits, schools, and community groups—this is your chance to transform Flagstaff’s shared spaces. The City of Flagstaff, through the Beautification and Public Art Commission, is accepting Beautification in Action (BIA) grants of up to $8,000 for creative projects that add character and beauty to our community. Eligible projects must be in publicly accessible locations and can include murals, sculptures, community or pollinator gardens, decorative benches, neighborhood pathways, and more.

Call to Artists: Temporary 3D Illusion Street Art/Route 66 Centennial Celebration

In celebration of the Route 66 Centennial on June 6, 2026, the City of Flagstaff seeks proposals for temporary street art (in chalk or tempera paint) that manipulate perspective to create interactive, 3D illusions and/or offer unique opportunities for pedestrians to engage with the art and take memorable photographs. The finished street art will be allowed to naturally deteriorate or be power washed away at the end of the Celebration. Selected artists will be paid up to $7,000.

Call to Artists: Verrado Well Wall Mural

The City of Buckeye invites Arizona-based artists, groups, and organizations to submit qualifications to create a 2D mural for the Verrado Way/Van Buren Water Campus Offsite Well #3. The chosen artist will be asked to create a design on the 200’ x 8’ wall that reflects the theme “desert storms/desert rain.” Two finalists will be selected to develop a design, and each will receive $1,000. The winning artist will advance into production and receive an additional $56,000 for the realization of the mural.

Call to Artists: Tohono Chul 40th Anniversary Mural Project

Tohono Chul invites proposals from experienced artists to create a large indoor mural that honors its 40-year history, reinforces its mission, and celebrates the distinctive beauty and artistic traditions of the Sonoran Desert. This project will elevate the art experience at Tohono Chul and take advantage of a premium venue: the Pavilion – a grand, 4,744-square-footflexible space that hosts public and private events. The addition of a versatile, timeless, and mood driven mural will transform the space into a daily destination for guests, deepen visitors’ connection to the organization’s mission, and serve as a must-see attraction for guests from near and far. The mural budget is not to exceed $20,000.
