Call to Artists: Temporary 3D Artworks

The City of Flagstaff seeks proposals for large-scale, three-dimensional (3D) artworks for the 2027/2028 Multicultural County Park Sculpture Exhibition. The exhibition features five sculptures, existing or newly created, that reflect diverse cultural expressions including Indigenous, Black, and Latinx art. Selected artworks can advance essential perspectives and narratives and will invite interaction, conversation, and appreciation.

Note: Applications will be accepted exclusively through OpenGov. Artists must register on OpenGov before submitting an application.

Rise of the Thunder Moon

Celebrate Flagstaff’s deep connection to the cosmos and experience the natural beauty of Buffalo Park in a whole new light. Join Dr. David Koerner for an evening of classical piano music, lunar meditations, and telescope viewing. This event is presented by Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition and supported by a City of Flagstaff Beautification in Action grant in celebration of Flagstaff’s 25th anniversary as the world’s first International Dark Sky City.

City of Aurora: Call for Indigenous Artists

The City of Aurora’s Art in Public Places Program is pleased to announce a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the first of five public art commissions planned for the Plains Conservation Center in Aurora, Colorado. This opportunity is open to artists who are members of the 51 federally recognized Tribal Nations associated with Colorado, as well as artists from Tribal communities whose members were displaced or relocated to the Denver Metro area through the Indian Relocation Act of 1956.

Each of the five commissions will be released separately over the coming months and will have the same artist eligibility requirements, providing multiple opportunities for eligible Indigenous artists to participate. Budgets for each site range from $30,000-$90,000.

Request for Qualifications:
City of Surprise Police Substation Artwork

The City of Surprise Arts & Culture Division invites professional artists and artist teams to submit qualifications for the design, fabrication, and installation of a permanent public artwork for the new Police Substation located at the northwest corner of 163rd Avenue and W. San Ysidro Road in Surprise, Arizona. The selected artwork will be integrated into the facility’s highly visible exterior boundary wall and should create a welcoming civic landmark that reflects the values of service, integrity, and justice. The selected artist will receive a contract of approximately $165,000 for design, engineering, fabrication, transportation, and installation of the completed artwork
