In celebration of young children and to support Flagstaff’s Festival of Science, CCC&Y’s 9thAnnual Early Childhood Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Flagstaff High School, 400 W. Elm St., Flagstaff.
Because of our wonderful sponsors and volunteers, there continues to be no charge to table at this event. More exciting, this year we will continue to be in the Flagstaff Festival of Science passport, in addition to other advertising, so we expect this to be a great event for all vendors. Vendors must have an approved application to participate.
Children building bird nests and digging through mud to build structures, peering through microscopes and telescopes and finally looking up to skies in awe as they watch a fleet of bottle rockets take flight — all this could be found during the annual Flagstaff Festival of Science’s “Science in the Park” event held Sept. 21 at Wheeler Park near downtown Flagstaff.
More than 50 organizations, including Lowell Observatory, the Museum of Northern Arizona and the Coconino Coalition for Children & Youth, took part in the annual event providing hands-on demonstrations large and small. Young people had the chance to climb onboard large earth moving equipment, practice their fire fighting skills with a mini fire hose, watch a Lunar Rover replica robot cruise around the park.
