Coconino County Elections Department Logic and Accuracy Test of voting equipment on June 15

The Coconino County Elections Department will conduct Logic and Accuracy Tests on ballots, tabulation equipment and accessible voting equipment beginning 8 a.m.

COCONINO COUNTY — In accordance with Arizona Revised Statutes (A.R.S. §16-449), the Coconino County Elections Department will conduct Logic and Accuracy (L&A) Tests on ballots, tabulation equipment and accessible voting equipment to be used for the July 21, 2026 Primary Election.

The L&A Test will begin at 8 a.m. on June 15, 2026 at the Coconino County Elections Center, 1300 W. University Avenue, Suite 180, Flagstaff, Arizona 86001. Testing will continue until all testing is completed. The first test will be conducted by the Arizona Secretary of State on federal and statewide contests, followed by the Coconino County test on local contests.

In adherence to strict pre-election protocols, all ballot tabulation systems and accessible equipment must undergo rigorous testing. Both the County and the Secretary of State must ensure that the tabulation system passes the L&A standards before it is used in the Primary Election. This process guarantees that all accessible equipment and optical scanners accurately count, record and tabulate results.

“L&A testing is one of the most important safeguards in election administration, because it allows the public, political parties and election officials to verify that ballot styles and tabulation equipment are functioning properly before voting begins,” Coconino County Elections Director Eslir Musta said. “This public process reflects our commitment to accuracy, transparency and accountability, and helps build confidence that ballots will be counted as cast by voters.”

The L&A Test must be conducted by the County and the Arizona Secretary of State in the presence of a bipartisan board, with observation open to the public.

The public and media are invited to observe the tests in person or via live video at Live Ballot Counting Video Feed and election information can be found at coconino.az.gov/vote. For questions or additional information, please contact the Elections Department at 928-679-7896.
