PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION

On January 13, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors recognized Brian Blue for serving 19 years on the Coconino County Parks and Recreation Commission. Brian served as commissioner for District 3 and provided thoughtful assessment and advice to numerous department initiatives during that time. His contributions to the community will be felt for years to come. We will miss his presence at the monthly meetings and his insight into all things parks and recreation, but we are excited for his next adventures with his wife Ann, his family, and friends!
Also on January 13, the Board of Supervisors appointed Dr. Gary Resnick to the Parks and Recreation Commission to represent District 3. Dr. Resnick is a retired scientist and former federal executive dedicated to community service and public well-being. With a Ph.D. in Microbiology and decades of leadership in national security and bioscience research, he brings analytical rigor, empathy, and collaboration to his volunteer work. Read a bio about Dr. Resnick and the other Parks & Recreation Commissioners on our website.

Volunteers Wanted! 🌿

Each winter, Flagstaff welcomes many visitors excited to play in the snow – and we love sharing our beautiful city! Unfortunately, the increased activity can lead to more litter in our outdoor spaces.

Please join us to participate in our two winter cleanups in partnership with the City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office, PROSE, USFS, and Friends of Coconino County Parks, to help keep our community clean and beautiful. Remember to always follow Leave No Trace principles and encourage others to do the same!

  • April 10 at Fort Tuthill County Park
