| Betsy Menand and family settled into Northern Arizona in 1979 after living in Maryland and California. As a nature lover and curious explorer, Betsy found Grand Canyon hiking to her liking. Horseshoe Mesa on the Grandview Trail in 1980 was her 1st. In 1984, she was invited to hike down the Nankoweap Trail to join a Research River Trip on the Colorado River…a first of many to follow.
Betsy earned a BFA – Drawing and Painting from the University Denver 1985 and returned to live in Flagstaff. Sedona Red Rock country was in her backyard and it became a go to place for hiking and inspiration. Living in Flagstaff for 30 years, allowed incredible access to exploring the Colorado Plateau thru hiking, boating & art. Her new family of 4 moved to the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in 2009. This new environment inspired Betsy to photograph and sketch the alpine wildflowers.
Betsy’s ‘House Builder’ spouse and ‘Carpenter’ children hand built a Wooden River Dory in 2015 and launched it on the Infamous Yampa River! Many rivers trips have followed including the Green River thru Desolation/Gray Canyons, San Juan River, Colorado River thru CNM and their local float on the Gunnison River. After raising her two children, Betsy joined the Plein Air movement in 2020. In recent years, she has been a juried/ invited artist Grand Canyon Conservancy – Celebration of Art, Colorado National Monument Plein Air Event, Sedona Plein Air Festival. Betsy’s art work reflects her love of rivers and canyon country of the Colorado Plateau. She lives with her family near Gunnison, Colorado at 9000’ |

| Leonor Pisano is an award-winning, international artist who maintains studios in Isla Negra, Chile and Tucson, Arizona, specializing in handcrafting unique jewelry. She has a particular passion for copper, an important natural resource in both locales, as well as silver and steel.
Further drawing inspiration from natural resources, she has focused on making couture pieces that often include materials found in the Sonoran Desert. Her art combines copper with fine metals, turquoise, pearls, cholla, fibers, leather and semi-precious stones. Some pieces also feature etchings that often reflect Southwest motifs.
Leonor has a background in Art Education, studying metalsmithing at Towson University under John Fix, as well as the Maryland Institute of Art, along with a variety of metal workshops on a continuing basis.
Leonor is a creative maximalist with a bright mind and an eye for detail. All of her work is artfully handcrafted with its own unique characteristics and elements, ranging from simple, elegant styles to exquisitely detailed costume pieces. |

| In 1962 Terry Shoulders began his professional involvement with the photographic image, shooting for the local newspaper in Vincennes, Indiana.
While attending art school in Chicago he accepted an opportunity to apprentice as an assistant at a top commercial studio. Afterward, in 1971 he opened his own commercial photography studio.
The next two decades he immersed himself in advertising photography, shooting for clients such as The Chicago Stock Exchange, American Express, United Airlines, Fed-X, Sara Lee, Hiram Walker Liqueurs, Converse, and Illinois Bell & Michigan Bell among others. From these 20 years of exploration Terry’s own unique style emerged into a body of work. His images express mood and atmosphere . . . and artistic individuality.
In 2006, Terry began to share his experience and enthusiasm for the medium by offering photographic workshops in Sedona. In 2009 Terry, and his wife Juna, relocated to the Monterey Peninsula where he was a Docent. He was then selected to be Workshop Coordinator for The Center for Photography in Carmel, California and soon after, opened his own fine art photography gallery in Carmel …‘Shoulders Photography Gallery.’ |

A native of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Karl moved to the West Coast with his mother and siblings at a young age. Becoming the man of the family early on gave him a deep sense of responsibility and a desire to care for others. His escape was art—a place where he found both freedom and contentment. Through his work, Karl channels his inner thoughts and emotions, often inspired by nature during solitary walks. Rather than ignoring the anomalies he encounters, he embraces and enhances them, guided by instinct.
His sculpture and pottery are described by critics as “out of the box” and ahead of the curve. Many of his innovations appear years later in the work of others. Each creation tells a story. His recent pieces, featuring expressive faces and masks, evoke emotion—grief, surprise, acceptance—drawing viewers inward. Karl’s use of the female torso as a canvas reflects strength, purity, and complexity. He also designed a custom furnace and copper workshop, crafting wire-based enhancements and unique bases that elevate each ceramic piece.
