Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA) — ECoNA, City of Winslow Take Home Golden Prospector Honors

Good afternoon,

I am excited to report that the Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona and our regional economic development professionals were honored at the recent Fall Forum of the Arizona Association for Economic Development.

The AAED presented 25 Golden Prospector Awards and Awards of Merit at its event in Flagstaff. Two awards of merit were earned by ECoNA, and a third by the City of Winslow, a member of our collaborative.

ECoNA received an award of merit for its new website, which we launched earlier this year, as well as our business attraction brochure for our entire region.

Meanwhile, the City of Winslow was recognized for its Business Retention and Expansion Incentive Program, designed to support existing businesses in key sectors, such as agriculture, manufacturing, food processing, hospitality, medical, and other industries creating high quality employment opportunities. Winslow is providing a total of $30,000 in grants to successful businesses and applications for these competitive funds must be submitted to the Winslow Economic Development Department by Dec. 18.

The Golden Prospector Awards were created more than 20 years ago to recognize, encourage, and celebrate excellence, innovation, and creativity in economic development across the state of Arizona.

We are grateful to the AAED for recognizing our efforts to attract businesses to northern Arizona and help existing companies grow so that our region continues to thrive now and in the future.
