Flyer depicts program Climate Conversation: Multimodal Transportation. Program is taking place May 13 at 6:00pm at the East Flagstaff Community Library. A Climate Resilience Project event! Discover how getting around Flagstaff by foot, bike, bus, or carpool does more than just reduce emissions. Join the Climate Resilience Project and MetroPlan for a community conversation about the many benefits of multimodal transportation – from cleaner air to safer, more connected neighborhoods.

Flyer depicting event Senior Coffee Hour. The 2nd Wednesday of every month at 10:00am. Downtown Library, Northwest corner. Coffee and snacks provided! Meet at the Downtown Library for coffee, pastries, and a conversation about services and opportunities from the City of Flagstaff Parks, Recreation, Open Spaces, and Events (PROSE)! We will hear from Ashlee Fliney, an Open Space Coordinator. For older adults age 55+. Presented in partnership with AmeriCorps Seniors.

It takes place every Wednesday at the new time of 5:30pm, and is located in the Northwest corner of the Downtown Library. Make writing a habit with practice! With the use of prompts, time allotments, and group sharing, Wily Writers will learn more about their writing and support others along the way. You bring your writing tools and we’ll bring the fun!

Flyer depicting Meet Me at the Trailhead: Hart Prairie program. This program is taking place May 17th at 9:00am. Join library staff and Roving Rangers from the Coconino National Forest as we ramble between 1-2 miles in Hart Prairie. Learn about early settlers, Bebb willows, thinning projects and more! Expect great views on this outing with the tallest peak in Arizona as a stunning backdrop. What you'll need: Transportation to and from the trailhead, water, snacks, sun protection, and shoes for hiking. Please no dogs on this adventure. How to get there: Drive north from Flagstaff on Highway 180 for approximately nine miles. Turn right onto Forest Road 151 (Hart Prairie Rd). Stay on this road for ~3.3 miles, then turn left into the parking area. We’ll meet you there! Please note that this event will be canceled if the forest is closed to public access, and that all last minute notices will be sent via Remind text - text @efclad to 81010 to join. Standard messaging rates apply, must be 13+ to join.

Book Clubs

There is also 2 hearts; one in the stripes of the lesbian flag, and one in the stripes of the trans flag. The book this month is “Cosmoknights” by Hannah Templer. There is a small photo of the book cover in the bottom left hand corner of the flyer. The book club will take place on May 12th at 6:30pm, at the East Flagstaff Community Library.

Welcome! The Senior Book Club meets the 3rd Monday of every month at the Joe C. Montoya Community and Senior Center, located at 245 N Thorpe Rd, Flagstaff, AZ 86001. All books provided are large print books for easier reading. If you need to check out the current book, call 928-213-2380 or email libraryprograms@flagstaffpubliclibrary.org. You can also stop by the library and get your book there. Next meeting books will be available at the Joe C. Montoya Community Center to check out after the meeting. You can also return the previous book then. Flyer is advertising the Southwest Reads book club. This book club is every 4th Wednesday of every other month. There is a forest green border, and a light background of tree bark. On the left side of the flyer, a cover of the book selection, “Fire Season: Field Notes From a Wilderness Lookout”, by Philip Connors, is shown. This program will take place on May 28 in the Downtown Library Community Room. “A reflection on life as a fire lookout, the wildness of fire, our place in nature, and the charms of solitude”.

Youth Events

Flyer depicts a library program called Saturday Story Stop Story Times. There is a graphic of a earthy green volkswagen bug with sunflowers sprouting from the back seat. This is a year round program taking place at the Downtown Flagstaff Library in the Community Room. The program starts at 10:30am. Join us for fun on stories for the whole family!

Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.
