September Concert Recap
Fanfares and Fireworks
Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra’s 76th Season opened on September 26 to tremendous applause. Steven Moeckel’s sublime performance of Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto brought the audience to their feet after the first movement, plus another standing ovation at the end.
FSO’s interpretation of Lalo’s overture to Le roi d’Ys captured the drama and mystery of a mythical city lost in the ocean. And Janáček’s Sinfonietta ended the program in a blaze of triumph, its radiant brass fanfares echoing throughout the hall.
