Summer is a Great Time to Join F3!
Dear Friend of Flagstaff,
A thriving democracy needs organized people and organized funding. When you become a member of Friends of Flagstaff’s Future (F3), you can contribute to both. The F3 Board of Directors invites you to join our local grassroots nonprofit.
We are a multi-issue organization whose mission is to achieve a sustainable, just, and thriving Flagstaff through community education, engagement, and advocacy.
Our focus areas are:
Affordability
Land Use and the Built Environment
Open Space, Public Spaces, and Viewsheds
Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience
Transportation
Local, Resilient and Equitable Economy
Water and Natural Resources
Civic Engagement
Working with F3’s Board of Directors, our full-time Executive Director, Michele James, stays on top of important issues and policy decisions in Flagstaff. This requires intensive study of policies and issues, attending weekly City Council meetings, participating in local and regional planning efforts, meeting individually with city staff and council members, serving on important committees, and clearly communicating what she learns to inform members and the wider public.
A swiftly changing environment requires visionary thinking and creative solutions in our community. F3 is the go-to organization when decision-makers are considering changes that affect this special place. As our membership increases, our influence increases.
But it takes a village, and your membership in F3 will also open up significant opportunities for you to stay informed and, if you wish, to work together with other active members, with our very active Board members, and with Michele on the issues you care most about.
There is nothing like getting together with concerned, informed and passionate people to meet the challenges of our day and shape the community we want to live in.
We hope that you find value in the work of F3 and will join us. If you are already a member, we hope you will pass this letter on to friends who you believe may be interested in supporting F3’s work.

We are Friends of Flagstaff’s Future (F3). We’re a local, community-supported nonprofit with a goal to educate and advocate for policies and decisions that will lead Flagstaff towards a more sustainable, resilient, & just community.
We seek accountability and transparency from our local leaders through meeting with city staff, council members, and community organizations, following and participating in local and regional planning, and communicating what we learn to our members and the public.
We encourage you to join our 400+ members if you’re not yet a member. We gain strength with more members and can have greater impact in our community.
