The Greater Flagstaff Region is hosting a public meeting on April 23 from 5:00-8:00 p, at the Flagstaff Aquaplex for the community to learn about the current process to update the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP).
Attendees will be able to visit with staff from local fire departments, talk with subject matter experts, and provide comments to inform the CWPP’s development, as well as learn about wildfire risk reduction recommendations for the forest and for homes.
Crucial aspects of the CWPP will include recommendations for hazardous fuels reduction, public outreach and education, structural ignitability reduction, and wildfire response capabilities.
In the face of potential wildfires, the CWPP efforts aim to identify wildfire planning measures that will heighten the safety of residents and related critical infrastructure throughout the project area.
Public Survey
Residents are also encouraged to take the Greater Flagstaff Community Wildfire Protection Plan Public Survey, which will provide important perspectives to help improve wildfire safety across the Greater Flagstaff Region. The survey, as well as additional information on the project, can be found on the CWPP website.
