Today is the 1-year anniversary of KNAU’s Poetry Friday. To honor this milestone, KNAU listener, author and NAU professor, Monica Brown, shares the poetry and ideology of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda, one of the most widely read Latin-American poets of all time. Learn more at KNAU.org.

Fifty years ago, a World War Two glider pilot and Sierra Club board member started a successful business offering dory trips down the Colorado River in Grand Canyon. Along the way, he became a warrior for wilderness.

After vandals broke into the construction site of the Chabad Jewish community center and carved swastikas into the walls and did other damage, members of the community have been leaving tin-foil-covered hearts all along the fence. Many have messages of unity and hope. Learn more at KNAU.org.

Animal are integral to the ceremonies of many Native Americans in the Southwest. Arizona wildlife managers have now begun a program to collect certain items like tortoise shells and distribute them to tribes. Learn more at KNAU.org.

Right now, the robots are a novelty. But NAU officials hope they catch on, solving an on-campus food delivery problem they’ve had for years. Ben Hartley, the Director of Campus Dining at NAU, says plenty of ideas have been tossed around in the past. Learn more at KNAU.org.
