April 30, May 6

FLAGSTAFF — The photo exhibit “Migrant Lives and Leadership” will continue with a First Friday Showcase from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 6 at the Firecreek Coffee Company, 22 Historic Route 66, Flagstaff.

“Join us as we celebrate migrant leadership worldwide with a bi-national photography exhibit. NAU students from Leah Mundell’s Civic Engagement Second Year Seminar and Laura Camden’s Photojournalism Capstone use interview and photographs to share the stories of migrants in Cape Town, South Africa and our own Flagstaff Community.”

The event is free.

The exhibit’s opening reception on April 30 at the Murdoch Community Center featured a panel discussion and the issues they face living in the United States.

As part of the program, a videoconference with members of the Cape Town Women’s Platform is scheduled to be held from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12. Location to be announced.
