NAU News — NAU students, staff team up to make 25,000 care kits for students and employees statewide

	NAU researcher receives NSF CAREER award to develop drones that operate autonomously in remote environments SICCS associate professor Fatemeh Afghah is working to develop small, inexpensive, artificially intelligent drone systems that can observe, understand, adapt and respond to changing environments on their own and communicate with other autonomous vehicles to perform more sophisticated missions.
	NSF fellowship, graduate school ahead for NAU researcher studying whether asteroids with tails led to water on Earth Jay Kueny, who graduated with his degree in astronomy in May 2019, has spent the last year studying active asteroids, one of the rarest and most mysterious celestial bodies in the solar system. He’s starting his Ph.D. at the University of Arizona in the fall.

Inside the kits, students also will find a hand-written note from one of the dozens of staff members or student workers who assembled the kits.
	NAU’s innovative, practical Senior Launch Guide helps high school students plan their future After COVID-19 sent most high school students home in the spring, GEAR UP mailed its Senior Launch Guide to thousands of Arizona students. The guide, which is now being used in schools nationwide, is a road map to help students track their progress after high school.
