Jessica Archibald Six NAU students make the list for NSF’s elite Graduate Research Fellowship Program
This award provides three years of funding for graduate students to focus on their own research projects. NAU’s winners include both master’s and doctoral students as well as two graduating seniors, who will take the fellowship funding into their Ph.D. programs.

In addition to retaining the four-year Pledge tuition guarantee, NAU is not proposing any new mandatory fee increases for the 2021-2022 academic year and will continue to focus on eliminating class fees.

Student Andrew Nettels created the Paper Product Waste Mitigation project, which will use “These come from trees” stickers placed throughout campus to reduce paper towel waste, save the university money and raise sustainability awareness on campus.

The river-running scientists, led by Matt Kaplinski, senior research associate in the School of Earth and Sustainability, use multibeam sonar as they study shifting sands through Grand Canyon National Park and the rest of the Colorado River Basin.
