Gallery 928 Youth Apprenticeship Program

Application Deadline: April 27, 2026

Program Dates: June 1–25, 2026

Sedona Arts Center invites talented teens ages 15–18 to apply for Gallery 928, a unique summer art apprenticeship that pairs young artists with an experienced master artist to design and create a public mural on the Arts Center campus. Up to 12 participants will be selected for this immersive program. Each apprentice receives a $500 stipend from Sedona Arts Center and three free college credits through Yavapai College, plus hands-on experience in the full public art process from concept to completion. Gallery 928 also helps emerging artists build critical professional skills — including teamwork, leadership, presentation, and resume development — preparing them for future opportunities in the arts.

A powerful juried exhibition exploring the many dimensions of freedom — personal, political, cultural, and creative. Open to artists working in all mediums, this exhibit invites bold perspectives that challenge, inspire, and reflect the evolving meaning of freedom across communities and experiences.

Monetary awards include Best of Show ($500), Second Place ($250), and Third Place ($150), along with Honorable Mentions and a People’s Choice Award.

A dynamic juried exhibition celebrating artists who push beyond traditional boundaries and explore new possibilities in creative expression. Open to all mediums, Beyond the Frame highlights work that embraces experimentation, unconventional materials, and innovative techniques — from dimensional painting and interactive sculpture to assemblage, textiles, found objects, and organic materials.

Monetary awards will be presented for Best of Show ($500), Second Place ($250), and Third Place ($150), along with Honorable Mentions and a People’s Choice Award.

City of Safford Mural Project (RFQ)

Project Location: Safford City–Graham County Library, Safford, AZ
Project Completion: October 1, 2026

Finalist Notification: May 4, 2026

The City of Safford is seeking an Arizona artist or artist team to design and create a large-scale mural for the exterior wall of the Safford City–Graham County Library. Located at a prominent intersection, this project offers a unique opportunity to create a lasting public artwork that reflects the role of the library as a hub for learning, connection, and community.

The selected artist will receive a project budget of up to $25,000, inclusive of design, materials, and installation. Up to three finalists will be selected and awarded a $300 honorarium to develop proposals.

Eligibility: Open to Arizona artists, 18 years and older.
